Make, model, year
Newer is usually worth more, and MacBooks hold value better than most Windows laptops.
Cosmetic and functional
Cracked screens, dead batteries, and dents factor in, but they do not disqualify a device. We still want to look.
RAM, storage, processor
More RAM and storage mean a higher offer. If you do not know the specs, just bring it in.
Resale value
We base offers on recent eBay sold prices, usually 30 to 60 percent, and can pay more for machines headed to our store shelves.
What you can expect
As a guideline we pay up to $125 for PC laptops and up to $400 for Mac laptops, with exceptions for the right device. Bring it in for a firm quote.
